Riley Crucchiola

Junior ~ Softball

In her first Varsity season, Riley Crucchiola, a junior, has two wins for the Cougars, one with Centennial and then again with South Salem. Riley, a left-handed pitcher, has been a wonderful addition to the squad. She has a strong work ethic and always puts in the extra time. Riley is also a strong student in the classroom, earning a 3.6 GPA for last trimester.

Ethan Erkenbeck

Senior ~ Snowboard

The skill and enthusiasm that Ethan had developed for skateboarding seems to have given him a great "edge" for snowboarding. Joining the CHS Snowboard Team in his sophomore year, Ethan competed at the State level both his junior and senior years. Recently he became an OISA State Medalist for Slopestyle, which involves riding a course with multiple options of big jumps and rails and is judged on performance, style, and "amplitude" (altitude).

Aaren Ziegler

Freshman ~ Golf

Aaren Ziegler, a freshman, competed on Monday in her first high school girls golf tournament. She was the overall individual girls medalist in the Marshfield Invitational at Bandon Trails on March 10. Aaren is a great student and has a 4.0 GPA through her first two trimesters at Canby High.

Robbie Ziegler

Senior ~ Golf

Robbie Ziegler, a senior with a 3.48 GPA, led the Canby Cougars to a third place finish in their first event of the season. Ziegler shot 76 and tied for medalist at the Marshfield High School Invitational at Bandon Trails Golf Course on March 10th. The weather was very difficult for the competitors with winds 20- 40mph and rain for much of the day. There were many scores in the 90's, which shows just how good Ziegler played.

Chayla Uhl

Senior ~ Equestrian

Chayla is a senior and has always been a huge asset to the Canby High School Equestrian team and she continues to improve each season. At the first meet of the year Chayla placed 3rd in Hunt Seat Equitation and was on the first place In-Hand Relay Team. In her senior year we have seen her transition into a team leader as well. Chayla has an incredible work ethic which shines through in each of her events. When she is not competing, she is always willing to lend a helping hand to her teammates and coaches, and inspires those around her to reach for their goals. Besides being an outstanding rider she is also a gifted singer and achieves academic excellence as well. I have enjoyed working with Chayla over the years and she will be greatly missed next year.

Jake Fowler

Senior ~ Basketball

Jake Fowler, a senior on the varsity boys basketball team, has a 3.96 GPA. He provided both offensive and defensive leadership as the Cougars closed out their league season with wins over McMinnville and Forest Grove. Jake is a large part of why the Cougars once again will return to the state playoffs next week against the McKay Royal Scots on Wednesday.
